Attractions Near Yellowstone RV Park

The Greater Yellowstone Area from Yellowstone RV Park offers many things to do. From visiting Yellowstone (only 25 miles north), to fishing the many rivers and streams, riding UTV's on the many trails, visiting spectacular Mesa Falls, Sawtelle Peak, Red Rock Lakes National Wildlife Refuge, hiking the many river and forest trails, and kayaking or rafting the nearby Henry's Fork of the Snake River, you'll not be without fun things to do here. When you do run out of things to do outside, or want a rest, go to the nearby musical theaters for some night fun!

Yellowstone National Park

America's premier National Park is only a beautiful 22 minute drive from our RV Park. Wildlife, rivers, waterfalls, and thermal features are an easy morning excursion. See their extensive website.

Red Rock Lakes National Wildlife Refuge

Visit one of America's most remote and beautiful wildlife refuges only 35 minutes away. Spend a day by yourself and enjoy the fantastic scenery here. Beautiful mountains, lakes, creeks, swans, birds of all kinds, springs, pronghorn, moose and more. It never gets old.

  1. Take Church Ln to S Big Springs Loop Rd in Island Park go 495 ft
  2. Follow Hwy 20 E to NF-053/Red Rock Pass Rd go 5.7 mi
  3. Drive to S Valley Rd in Beaverhead County go 27.5 mi

Henry's Fork of the Snake River

Fish on the many streams, rivers and lakes.

Directions To Henry's Fork of The Snake River

  1. Take S Big Springs Loop Rd to Hwy 20 W in Island Park turn right and you can't miss the river!

Henry's Lake

Henry's Lake features great trout fishing and scenic views. Fish in Henry's Lake, Island Park Reservoir and Lake Hebgen in Montana (get a license from Henry's Fork Anglers in Last Chance, just 6 minutes south of us on US20.) Buy a Yellowstone National Park fishing permit within any park store or office.

Harriman State Park

Harriman is an old railroad ranch that is now a beautiful state park. Fishing is great and there are plenty of hiking trails, horse back riding and scenic beauty.

  1. Take S Big Springs Loop Rd to Hwy 20 W in Island Park go 0.2 mi
  2. Turn left onto Hwy 20 W 14 min go 14.0 mi
  3. Take 167/Green Canyon Rd to your destination go 0.6 mi

Upper and Lower Mesa Falls

Mesa Falls are beautiful falls not too far away. Make sure you make time to visit these spectacular falls. The Henry's Fork of the Snake River flows over these two falls.

  5. Turn left onto Mesa Falls Scenic Byway/Mesa Falls Trail and Continue to follow Mesa Falls Scenic Byway for 12.9 mi
  6. Turn right onto Upper Mesa Falls Rd go 0.7 mi
  7. Continue straight to stay on Upper Mesa Falls Rd Destination will be on the left

Buffalo River

The nearby Buffalo River offers kayaking and good fishing.

Madison River

The Madison River is a world famous fishing venue flowing from Yellowstone.

  2. Continue on Hwy 20 E. Drive from ID-87 N and MT-87 N to Madison County go 33.5 mi
  3. Drive to your destination go 0.2 mi

Island Park Reservoir

Henry's Fork is dammed not far from Yellowstone RV Park and forms a large lake with shore birds and fish galore.

  1. Take Church Ln to S Big Springs Loop Rd in Island Park go 495 ft
  2. Follow Hwy 20 W and Kilgore-Yale Rd to Old Kilgore Rd/Old Shotgun Rd go 7.4 mi
  3. Continue on Old Kilgore Rd/Old Shotgun Rd to your destination go 8.2 mi

Big Springs

Just a few miles east of our park is Big Springs, the start of the Henry's Fork of the Snake River. These are beautiful springs well worth the visit. Large trout gather under the bridge to be feed by tourists. Visit the Johnny Sack's cabin built in the 1930's next to the springs.

Teton National Park

While not real close by, Teton National Park and Jackson, WY are great places to explore on a day excursion.

Off-road Trails

Ride a UTV on the numerous trails that can be reached from our park. Go to the top of Sawtelle Peak (10,000 feet) on a UTV, explore the forest trails, or travel the national trail. Ask in our office for trail maps.
